20th Mantra of Kathopanishada
(बीसवां मन्त्र)
येयं प्रेते विचिकित्सा मनुष्येऽस्तीत्येके नायमस्तीति चैके।
एतद्विद्यामनुशिष्टस्त्वयाहं वराणामेष वरस्तृतीय: ॥२०॥
मृतक मनुष्य के संबंध में यह जो संशय है कि कुछ लोग कहते हैं कि यह आत्मा (मृत्यु के पश्चात) रहता है और कुछ लोग कहते हैं कि नहीं रहता, आपसे उपदेश पाकर मैं इसे जान लूं, यह वरों मे यह तीसरा वर है।
(Nachiketa said): "There is that doubt when a man is dead some people say that they remain (that they exist) and some say that they do not. This knowledge I desire, being instructed by you (Death). This is the third of my boons."
