(छठां मन्त्र)
6th Mantra of Second Valli (Kathopanishada)
न साम्परायः प्रतिभाति बालं प्रमाद्यन्तं वित्तमोहेन मूढम्।
अयं लोको नास्ति पर इति मानी पुनः पुनर्वशमापद्यते मे॥ ६॥
(यमराज ने कहा) धन सम्पत्ति से मोहित, प्रमादग्रस्त अज्ञानी पुरुष को परलोक की बात पसन्द नहीं आती। यह लोक (ही सत्य है) इससे परे (कुछ) नहीं है ऐसा मानने वाला मनुष्य बार-बार मेरे (मृत्यु के) वश में आ जाता है।
The Self never reveals itself to the ignorant person deluded by glamour of wealth. “This world alone exits, he thinks, “and there is no other such thing as Heaven or Hell.” Again and again he comes under my control.
